Sketchfab Integration Now Available on NVIDIA Omniverse

Back to overview

Earlier this year we announced that Sketchfab assets were compatible with NVIDIA Omniverse, a powerful 3D design collaboration platform built on Pixar’s Universal Scene Description (USD). Today, we’re pleased to share a new integration that makes importing Sketchfab assets into NVIDIA Omniverse projects even easier. Now, you can import both free and purchased models from Sketchfab into your projects directly within NVIDIA Omniverse.

You can find the Sketchfab models directly in the asset browser of Omniverse Create as well as in the exchange from the NVIDIA Omniverse launcher.

How to import Sketchfab models into NVIDIA Omniverse projects

  1. Open an Omniverse App and navigate to the Asset Stores (Beta) browser where you can see the assets you already own, plus all of Sketchfab’s available assets in one single catalog. Use the search box and filter to help you find the assets you’d like to use.
  2. When you double-click on a new model’s thumbnail, NVIDIA Omniverse will prompt you to log in to your Sketchfab account and guide you to download.
  3. Then, simply drag and drop any downloaded assets into your scene from the NVIDIA Omniverse Asset Stores browser.

Sketchfab’s expanding integration landscape

This latest integration with NVIDIA Omniverse is but one of Sketchfab’s many direct integrations with industry-leading modeling, scanning, VR and AR apps. Our vast library of over 800,000 free Creative Commons-licensed models and over 140,000 royalty-free Store models is an essential resource for creators seeking assets or inspiration.
